Embellishing the Facts

Posted by Laura Kenyon on

This  pattern, called Book Club, is a new one I drew in 2016. It is really a blank slate.  There are so many possibilities.

Shari Smith of Crossville, Tennessee sent us her interpretation of this piece. It  is the first one I have seen finished.

Look carefully, there are so many embellishments. I love everything about it. She really captured the personalities of each of gals.  Each lady is accessorized according to her own style. The hair is wonderful.  To emphasize each figure but keep it cohesive, she chose a limited color plan that works beautifully.

Funny how everyone reacts to art differently. This piece reminds me that life is going to get back to normal after the holidays. The calendar is going to fill up with the mundane in no time at all.

My husband looked at it and had a different response. He said,"She must be an Ohio State fan". There has been way too much football being watched at my house this weekend.
