SARI SILK RIBBON SKEINS
Add some pizzazz to your next project with silk ribbon. It hooks up great into loops of any height. Get a nubby look with short loops or make long loops for fringe. It can be used for knitting or crochet or punch.
Scrap edges from sari manufacturing and vintage saris are hand torn are approximately 1/2 inch to an inch width and sewn or knotted together for a length of approximately 25 yards per skein. The ribbon is mostly silk but may have metallic threads, rayon, or some cotton with lots of texture variation.The multicolor ribbon has brilliant bold jewel tones as-is from the sari fabric with lots of variation in cloth with cotton and silk and is a little heavier than the others.
The single color skeins are overdyed ribbons from different cloths giving a piece with patterns and other colors not subtly mixed, like spot dyed wool. Skeins vary from each other even with the same lot. We will try to match skeins ordered at one time
